How do I join?

You can join our credit union from your own home when it's convenient to you. Simply click the button below and follow the simple instructions.

Once your membership has been approved, we'll text you a temporary PIN so you can have immediate access to your online account. You won’t have to worry about anything, we will do the rest.

If you would prefer to speak to someone in person, you can arrange a convenient appointment at one of our offices with a member of the KRD team by contacting us.

What documents will I need?

If you fall within the common bond and want to become a member of KRD then you need to provide us with two forms of identification. These must include one photographic, such as drivers license, citizen card or passport. The second form of i.d. must be a recent letter with your name and current address on it, this could be a bank statement, or utility bill (these letters must be no less than 3 months old).

There is a £1 membership fee when you open your account.

What is a Common Bond?

All credit unions have a common bond - something that unites our membership.  At KRD Credit Union, our common bond is that our members live or work within a 10-mile radius of the Kilrea, Rasharkin, Dunloy, Cloughmills, Aghadowey, Garvagh and Ballymoney areas.

What is the maximum balance that I can have in my account?

Currently the maximum balance in a member account is £30,000 and in a junior account is £15,000. This is subject to change.

Is there a minimum account balance?

Yes, we ask that you keep a minimum balance of £1 in your account.

How can I pay into my savings account?

You can pay lump sums or regular amounts into your savings - it's your choice.  You can set up a regular payment via standing order or electronic transfer.  You can also pay into your account by making online transfers from another account e.g. your bank account.  Cheques and cash can be paid into your account at any of our offices.
